Dear folk musicians and folk music enthusiasts!
The Dűvő Zenekar, recognised both in Hungary and in the international music world, is once again announcing its folk music camp in Kiscsősz. The camp will be held at the same time as the popular Gyakorló Táncosok és Táncoktatók Tábora (Training Dancers and Dance Instructors Camp). Thanks to the ensemble's programme, a truly high-quality and exceptional gathering is to be expected. The camp will offer instruction on string instruments and folk singing. Beginners and advanced musicians can study violin, viola and double bass, and folk singing instruction will also be available.
Instructors:
Dénes Hrúz – violin, Szabolcs Hrúz – violin
Zsolt Nagy – viola
Albert Mohácsy – double bass
Júlia Kubinyi – folk singing
The camp's musical material: Magyarbődi folk music, Marossárpataki folk music
Given that the instructors have set an appropriate pace for progress in the camp, we ask that only those register who can already play their instrument and are not complete beginners.
Important!
There is no age limit. We cannot provide childcare, so children under 14 can only participate with a parent or an authorised adult guardian. The guardian may also be a member of the Dűvő ensemble if they are the child's instructor or a personal acquaintance. When completing the registration, please indicate the guardian's name and contact details.
Expected daily schedule:
- Breakfast
- 9.30 – 12.30 music instruction
- Lunch
- 15.00 – 18.00 music instruction
- Dinner
- 20.00 onwards evening discussions, music-making, extra programme
The first instruction begins on Sunday, July 5 at 16.00. Before that, at 15.00, we will hold a joint meeting in the courtyard of Bivaly Csárda. Please plan to arrive at the camp on July 5 between 10.00 and 14.00 (for those with tents, we recommend arriving in the morning for setup). The first meal is dinner.
Accommodation:
Options include your own tent/caravan, yurt/communal tent, private houses, or communal accommodation. Given that the Gyakorló Táncosok és Táncoktatók Tábora will also be running during this period, accommodation will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The camp provides three meals a day.
As in previous years, everyone at the camp must bring and use their own cutlery and plate – there will be no shared dishes or plastic crockery. We are introducing this change in the spirit of environmental protection. We ask everyone to think ahead and bring all the necessary utensils for each meal. We will provide a hot-water washing station for cleaning cutlery. If anyone does forget to bring cutlery, they can purchase it on site.
Camp fee:
82,500 Ft for stone house accommodation, 75,000 Ft for those requiring tent accommodation, which includes instruction and meals. The camp fee is payable on site.
Registration deadline: June 20.
Registration is done by filling in the online registration form. The online registration form can be found under the Related pages menu, on the right.
If you have any further questions about registration, please write to zenetancfesztival@gmail.com. We can only consider registrations from participants under 18 years of age together with a parental statement!
Attention!
In previous years, we have encountered many excessively individual participation requests. We wish to point out that we do not see the possibility of breaking down the camp "into its component parts" for various individual discounts. Therefore, registrants must pay at least a full day rate, regardless of meals taken or instruction duration.
Available discounts:
- For parents present as guardians, if they do not participate in instruction: 20%
- For children under 8 years old: 50%
- For day visitors (not requiring accommodation): 20%
(Discounts are calculated in all cases depending on the requested accommodation type, and for day visitors, from the "stone house" participation fee.)
We look forward to welcoming you!
Greetings on behalf of the organisers:
Norbert Kovács Cimbi
