How can we get to the Netherlands without boarding a plane? In a special weekend workshop, we can now travel into the world of Dutch lace-making through lace itself. Five lace-maker members of our association traveled to the Netherlands with the support of the Erasmus+ program, where they had the opportunity to learn and master the technique of diagonal half-hitch lace-making, as well as to gain insight into the traditions, methods and everyday life of Dutch lace-making.
Over the two days, we would like to share this experience with those who could not participate in the trip. The aim of the weekend program is for participants to not only learn a new lace-making technique, but to genuinely feel like they are in the Netherlands for a short time.
The workshop leaders will bring the world of Dutch lace to participants through their personal experiences, knowledge and expertise gained there. Participants will learn about the background, interesting facts and traditions of Dutch lace-making, while we share the experiences, stories and knowledge acquired during the trip, in such a way that workshop participants would be guests of the local lace-making community
Theoretical and practical workshop leaders:
- Kónya Sándorné - lace-maker,
- Romhányi Zsuzsanna - lace-maker,
- Tóthné Kiss Szilvia - folk artist,
- Tóth Károlyné - folk artist,
- Török Judit - lace-maker
Training duration: 15 hours
Registration deadline: 30 September 2026.
We warmly welcome all interested participants.
