2026. OCTOBER 17. – VI. PUMPKIN-GOOD-DAY

There is one month in the year that means far more to me than just a page in a calendar.

October is our celebration.

In this month, life gave me two gifts without whom I cannot imagine myself today: my husband and my daughter, Kovász.

And somehow I don't believe it's a coincidence that a plant entered my life that is one of the most beautiful symbols of this very month.

 The pumpkin.

That autumn paints with a thousand colors.

That can find its way to our table in a thousand different ways.

For me, it all at once means the earth, the harvest, abundance, home, and that wonder when something beautiful is born in autumn from what we planted in spring.

Perhaps that's why Pumpkin-Good-Day became more than just a simple event for us.

It became a tradition. Now in its sixth year.

Every year on the Saturday before Kovász's birthday, we gather at the farm.

This year, for the sixth time.

 VI. PUMPKIN-GOOD-DAY

 EngiLand Farm

And since we're celebrating, let's do it the way we love: together, big, with lots of laughter, music, dancing, tasty morsels and of course plenty of pumpkins!

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO WITH YOU THIS YEAR:

 PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION

Children, adults, families – show us what's hidden in a pumpkin!

You can purchase the pumpkins needed for carving on site, so you only need to bring your own tried-and-tested carving tools.

Crafts workshops for children and adults – create, get messy, take home a little piece of EngiLand autumn!

 Local producers' market

This year the Puszta-vámi German National Brass Band will be with us again, without whom Pumpkin-Good-Day hardly exists anymore.

And this year the Hungarikum Ensemble will make music for us – with melodies, good cheer and genuine Hungarian spirit.

Hajni Kalafatics and her Így tedd rá! Mór team will get children and adults dancing. Here, sitting on the sidelines simply won't do!

The little ones will be entertained with traditional games – because you can play without a phone in such a way that even the grown-ups get in on the fun.

You can admire paintings by my father, painter László Berecz

Of course, you'll also meet the farm's residents, since on this day they are hosts too.

And Puszedli is already waiting for the young riders.

 GASTRO CORNER

This is where we take over.

We're preparing EngiLand delicacies, naturally with pumpkin, autumn and farm flavors taking center stage.

This year, Villa Mille is also joining the Gastro Corner with its wines, so that something truly fine will be in the grown-ups' glasses too.

 PUMPKIN-GOOD COOKING COMPETITION

Teams, groups of friends, families – bring out your secret recipes!

One thing is certain: butternut squash must play the starring role.

And we're preparing two main dishes that you requested:

Butternut squash and goat ragout in a homemade bread basket

Butternut squash gnocchi with essential basil pesto

And all of this has a very important purpose for us: from the cooking competition entry fee and the price of the main dishes we prepare, we are supporting Izabella.

ADMISSION TO VI. PUMPKIN-GOOD-DAY IS FREE!

You don't need to buy an entrance ticket; we want this day to truly be for everyone.

You only pay for the food and drinks you consume.

And you can purchase the pumpkins needed for carving on site.

This day is not a market for us.

It's not a festival.

And it's not simply an event.

It's a piece of the life we live here, at EngiLand Farm.

A day when we open the gate, fill the farm with music, aromas, children's voices, laughter and people.

Because October is our celebration month.

And a celebration is truly real when there's someone to share it with.

Come celebrate with us at VI. Pumpkin-Good-Day!

Because in October, for us, it's not just the pumpkin that's good.

Life is Pumpkin-Good.

Anyone can add events to the Folk Calendar. We try to check the data daily, but we cannot take responsibility for its accuracy.
