World of Tools at the Pestújhely Community House! Come and drill, carve!

Project: Wooden coaster. Tools: saw, drill.

30 October 2026, Friday 17:00-18:30

The Pestújhely Community House continues its popular do-it-yourself workshop series, where children can learn to use various tools and leave with a creation they have made themselves. We welcome not only boys, but also brave girls!

This time we'll drill and carve until we've assembled a wooden coaster!

Workshop leaders:

Zsolt Plichta, carpentry master

Réka Farkas, applied artist, art teacher

Why is carpentry useful, apart from being an exciting activity?

  • Through carpentry, children experience with their own hands how an idea becomes a real object.
  • Safe use of the saw, drill and other hand tools develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration.
  • During planning and execution, they learn that mistakes are a natural part of problem-solving and learning.
  • Working with real materials and tools strengthens independence, responsibility and self-confidence.
  • Carpentry is, moreover, a joyful, creative activity in which children not only use but also shape the world around them.

Fee: 2000 Ft per session per child
