World of Tools at the Pestújhely Community Center! Come drill and carve!
2026.11.22., 17:00-18:30
The Pestújhely Community Center continues its much-needed woodworking workshop series, where children can learn to use various tools and leave with a creation they've made themselves. We're not just expecting boys—brave girls are welcome too!
Workshop leader: Zsolt Plichta, master craftsperson; Réka Farkas, applied artist and art educator
Why is woodworking useful, beyond being an exciting activity?
- Through woodworking, children experience firsthand how an idea becomes a real object through their own hands.
- Safe use of saws, drills and other hand tools develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration.
- During planning and execution, they learn that mistakes are a natural part of problem-solving and learning.
- Working with real materials and tools strengthens independence, responsibility and self-confidence.
- Moreover, woodworking is a joyful, creative activity in which children not only use but also shape the world around them.
