Story Threading – from Beads, Memories, Moments
Instructor: Anna Fehér, folk artist and beadwork master
Date: 21 November 2026, Saturday 10:00-13:00
There are things we don't want to forget.
The scent of an old summer, a grandmother's hands, an important meeting, shared laughter, a place that feels good to remember.
Beadwork is a special way to slow down a little. The small, repetitive movements draw our attention inward, while our hands create and our thoughts can wander more freely. In this workshop, alongside creating, we also conjure up and "thread together" our memories – each of us bringing as much from our own story as we wish to share.
Under the guidance of Anna Fehér, folk artist and beadwork master, we'll create a special ring from beads. The colours, shapes and beads you choose can connect to people, places or memories that matter to you.
You can come alone, with a friend, with your mother, daughter, sister or anyone you'd like to spend a creative, unhurried time with.
Because sometimes a tiny bead is enough to remind us of something important.
And sometimes a finished piece of jewellery holds an entire story.
Come and thread your own memory ring!
About the instructor:
Anna Fehér is a folk artist and beadwork master dedicated to researching and passing on Hungarian folk jewellery and beading traditions. For decades she has collected, researched and reinterpreted the beadwork heritage of the Carpathian Basin, particularly Sárkoz and Transylvanian traditions. In 1983 she received the Young Master of Folk Art award, and in 1999 was honoured with the Zsiga Király Prize for her work in folk art. In her work she connects traditional forms to contemporary dress and life, while placing great emphasis on personally passing on beadwork knowledge.
